 Images are important

Images must have text alternatives that describe the information or function represented by them

Images and graphics make content more pleasant and easier to understand for many people, and in particular for those with cognitive and learning disabilities. They serve as cues that are used by people with visual impairments, including people with low vision, to orient themselves in the content.


Removing images from websites (so-called “text-only versions”) makes them less accessible and functional for these users and situations.

Sip-and-Puff Systems Sip-and-puff systems are used by students who have mobility challenges, such as paralysis and fine motor skill disabilities. These systems allow for control of a computer, mobile device, or some other technological application by the child moving the device with his or her mouth.
